FAERUN, ????
Henry grew up as Prince Hen Ry'Oak in Oakvale, a druidic hippie commune run by his father, Bear Ry'Oak (aka Barry Oak). No matter what Hen did, he could never live up to his father's expectations. Unbeknownst to Hen, his bloodline contained a powerful chaos entity from beyond all known realms, passed down from his grandmother, to his father, to him. This being is known as the Doodler.
Bear's life's work centered around trying to create a magic looking glass which would allow him to open a portal to Earth, the otherworldly realm where his mother, Hildy Russet, came from. However, Bear could never get the looking glass to work, and he shattered it in a rare moment of rage. Prince Hen, desperate for his father's approval, took it upon himself to repair the looking glass and finish what his father started.
EARTH, 2002
Somehow, Hen managed it! Except the magic of the looking glass was uncontrolled, and it opened a portal to Earth which sucked Hen through it before he could stop it, and spat him out in the middle of an Ecuadorian rainforest. The process was so traumatizing that it burned away all his clothes and left Hen with amnesia, able to remember nothing but his name. Hen wandered the rainforest for days, naked, hungry, and alone, until a hiker found himβ€” Mercedes Garcia. Shortly after their meeting, Henry passed out from dehydration. Mercedes brought him to a hospital, and stayed by his bedside for weeks until he woke up. When it became clear that Henry had no memory of who he was or where he was from, Mercedes brought him back to California with her, where her family took him in. The two would later marry.
EARTH, 2007
Henry and Mercedes gave birth to two beautiful identical twin boys, Lark and Sparrow Oak-Garcia. Again, without Henry knowing it, the chaos power of the Doodler was passed down from him to his sons, growing ever stronger with each new generation. Lark and Sparrow grew into tweens who are chaos incarnate. Henry had enough vague memories of growing up under his authoritarian father that he tried to employ the opposite attitude with his sons, practicing what he called "free-range parenting." Of course, this led to his sons becoming uncontrollable, with Henry unable to teach them that their actions have consequences.

In what started out as an innocent carpool trip to a soccer tournament, Henry and his sons, along with Darryl Wilson, Glenn Close, and Ron Stampler, and all of their sons, were transported through a mysterious portal into a realm of monsters and magic. The dads were separated from their sons, and went on a long and adventurous odyssey to get them back. (See all of Dungeons & Daddies season one)
FAERUN »» EARTH, 2020
After their adventure which spanned several months, the dads and the sons returned home to Earth. Later on, they gathered at the Oak-Garcia household for a movie night. Lark, having held a grudge against Henry for some time now, succumbed to the suggestive powers of the BBEG and stabbed Henry in the back, spilling his blood and fulfilling the prophecy that would unleash the Doodler onto the world. The Doodler's essence bled out of Henry and his sons, and covered the entire sky, blotting out the son with red and black static.
FOLKMORE, June '22-January '23
Henry was brought into Folkmore by Thirteen as a Legend, fresh from being stabbed by Lark, and spent half a year making a new life for himself, living through trials and trying to reach his full potential. He formed a very close connection with a young teen named Sunny, a shut in who also had painful memories locked away in his mind. They bonded over their shared trauma, and Henry slowly encouraged Sunny to come out of his shell.
RYSLIG, September-November '23
Without any memory of his time in Folkmore, Henry was brought to the Ryslig peninsula by the Fog God, once again fresh from being stabbed. Here, he was transformed into an undead, skeletal being known as a lich, who would uncontrollably rot or decay any organic matter he touched. While in Ryslig, Henry lived through a near-apocalypse, during which the land was torn apart by Old Gods who were angry at what the Fog God and her monsters had done to the world. The only way to stop the apocalypse, after mass starvation and natural disasters, was for as many monsters as possible to kill themselves in a ritual sacrifice. Henry tried to join the sacrifice, however he didn't know that as a a lich, he couldn't actually be killed unless his phylactery was destroyed. So, in the end, his death counted for nothing.
EARTH, 2020-2024
After disappearing from Ryslig, Henry went back home to an Earth that had been terrorized and transformed by the Doodler. People and creatures which were infected by the Doodler's madness ran rampant. Henry and the other dads formed The Department for the Acquisition, Destruction, Deployment and Investigation of Extra-Normal Stuff, aka D.A.D.D.I.E.S., an organization dedicated to protecting the world from the "Doodlerized" monstrosities which now were spreading like wildfire and threatening to overtake everything.
FOLKMORE, January-April '23
Henry returned to Folkmore, four years older. At this point, he remembered his previous stay in Folkmore, but had no memories of his time in Ryslig. This stay only lasted a couple of months before Thirteen once again sent Henry back home.
EARTH, 2024
The dads and the teens fight their way to a place known as the Church of the Doodler, an impossibly high summit, close to the writhing mass of the Doodler in the sky, where a cult of Doodler worshippers commune with the chaos entity through the use of a throne. Despite Henry's every effort to stop him, Lark sits on the throne, feeling guilty for plunging the world into ruin. He is immediately flooded with the overwhelming amount of chaotic, confusing emotions felt by the Doodler: love, hate, fear, loneliness. With tears streaming down his face, Lark declares, "We have to kill it."
FOLKMORE, January 2024-Now
It would seem that Thirteen isn't quite done with Henry yet, as she pulled him back to Folkmore for the third time. This time, he came complete not only with the memories of his previous stay, but also with the memories of his time as a lich in Ryslig. Henry is a more haunted, defeated man than he was previously, but he is trying to return to his old, optimistic self.
